Knitting Together

The unity of the members of the early church is well recorded in the Bible. They knitted together as a loving community who obeyed the teaching of Jesus about helping the poor. Today, followers of Jesus continue to work together to help others - even those living on the Tibetan Plateau!

Recently, a group of ladies at St. Andrew's Church hand-knitted more than 100 items to keep our kids warm in Qinghai. I was so encouraged to know that members of their congregation literally knitted together to bless our children. The scarves and hats were shipped out from Hong Kong and arrived just in time for Chinese New Year when the temperature was at its coldest!

I'm thankful for the many church partnerships we've formed over the years. St. Andrew's Church in Tsim Sha Tsui has long been a friend and partner of CA. Their vicar, John Menear, was CA Board founding member, and John Aldis was our former Chairman. I've been worshipping at their daughter church, Resurrection Church, for 28 years now! The faithful people of St. Andrew's and Resurrection Church have impacted countless lives in Jesus' name as they supported our loving service to the orphans in Qinghai and the refugees in Hong Kong. I hope that in the near future many of their members could visit Qinghai and enjoy a firsthand experience of the work that is being done for helpless children.

I believe it's through the local church community that the world sees an on-the-ground expression of the love of Jesus Christ. If you or your fellowship would like to partner with our ministries in Hong Kong or Qinghai in any way, I'd love to hear from you!
