The Child Centred Approach

Most eleven-year-old girls have a healthy appetite and seldom need much encouragement when it comes to eating. Qiu Qiu was an exception. Her spindly little arms and legs would have had you thinking she was being starved.But eating held no appeal for her. The fragile little girl’s health was a real matter of concern for staff at Xining Children's Home.

A Heart-Stealer Called Ming

It seems impossible for a six-day old baby to steal hearts, but that was his age when Ming joined the Christian Action family at Xining Children's Home. Everyone who has had the privilege of looking after him has been smitten with Ming. I can't imagine how heartbroken his parents must have been to decide that the only way he could get medical treatment was for them to 'abandon' him.

God still Leads us to Care!

Hi to all you caring readers during this very busy time of year! This week I’m sharing with you a short but very exciting thing that’s been happening in the area of rehabilitation of those who are disabled.  As you know, our Xining Rehab Centre has been a God-send for the children and community there.  But now our staff are helping to train staff from the rehab centre of another organisation – this one in Lanzhou, which has been one of the centres of China’s national nuclear power industry.

The World's Most Valuable Software

When guests from Europe and elsewhere visit the Multi-Sensory room in the Children's Rehabilitation Centre in Xining they say they have never seen anything like it. But Anthony Charter, our Chairman, says, "It's easy to pat ourselves on the back when we look at the hardware we've invested in, but now we need the software so that we can inspire others to empower disabled children." What is this 'software' he's talking about?
