A Year of Training Victories

Christian Action has been pioneering the training of employees since 1993, and for many years we have received awards from the Employees Retraining Board (ERB). ERB recognises the significance of the work we are doing for our community and the Hong Kong job market.

This year we took home eight awards, many more than in previous years! On 10 March, 400 of us gathered across various training organisations to celebrate the ERB 25th Anniversary closing ceremony cum the 10th ERB 'Manpower Development Scheme' Award presentation ceremony. Officiating guests include Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr. The Hon Matthew Cheung, GBM, GBS, JP; Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr. The Hon C K Law, GBS, JP; Commissioner for Labour, Mr. Carlson Chan, JP; ERB Chairman, Dr. William Leung, SBS, JP; ERB Deputy Chairman, Mr. Yu Pang Chun, SBS, JP; and ERB Executive Director, Mr. Byron Ng, BBS.

Christian Action has been a proud contributor to the Manpower Development Scheme, so we received the most awards in the ERB award presentation ceremony Some of the eight awards were the ERB25 Grand Award for Training, the ERB25 Promotion Contest (Bronze Award), and the ERB Outstanding Award for Course Development. The speech given by Mr. Matthew Cheung, GBM, GBS, JP was inspiring. He urged us to continue innovating to build a strong, capable workforce for the future. It has been a great privilege to serve alongside him over the past 25 years.

Spending time with hardworking, award-winning instructors such as Mrs. May Cheung also reminded me that we have nothing but a bright future ahead of us in training. My heart is full, and I am so thankful for the hard work that our Training Division has done to create these life-changing programmes for those in need.

As we continue training and equipping our community, my prayer is that we would give them the tools they need to succeed and the encouragement to truly thrive. I pray that they would also catch a glimpse of God's love for them.
