During the fifth wave of this COVID outbreak, Christian Action distributed rapid test kits, Chinese medicine, paracetamol and other useful preventive products to all staff members to keep at home. My family was always so thankful for them because the shops usually sell out of these items as soon as they come into stock.

Fourteen years ago, we started a pilot project at Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor. The Child Development Fund (CDF), as it is now known, attempted to help children from Hong Kong’s poorest families break free from poverty. We recently celebrated the graduation of yet another group of CDF students - so one could say this experiment is a huge success!

It’s my first time meeting ethnic minorities who live in Hong Kong. My past tutoring experience has always been with helping locals. My students, Qais and Simki, were very enthusiastic to learn. The older brother always helped his sister keep up with the pace. With his help my job was made much easier. Tucked away at the end of Acts 9 is the story of a disciple named Tabitha. The Bible says she “was always doing good and helping the poor”. Her story teaches us that God can use what may seem insignificant to us, to influence those we have been called to serve.
