Ripples Of Happiness!

Happy New Year! Over the last few weeks my family celebrated God's love in the gift of his Son, Jesus, on Christmas Day. As is our custom, we also exchanged gifts. But one of the most moving gifts I received was not from my family but from the children and staff of the Huangnan Children's Home, where Dou Ge lives. Following are extracts from some letters and I share them with you to thank you for your prayers, donations and your promotion of her cause. Read and be happy!

From Jiu Xie, Dou Geʼs best friend at the Childrenʼs Home:

"Before Dou Ge's departure, the staff said I should spend more time with her and talk to her more. They told me about her illness and the surgery and I was in shock. Although I didn't know what a tumor is, I knew it is serious. Now, I am so happy for the successful surgery. I hope I can see Dou Ge soon. We can go to school and play together when she comes back."

From Xiu Jun, our staff at the Home:

"When the surgery was finished, I immediately told Dou Ge's younger sister, Zhuoga. She cried when she heard the news. Although Dou Ge had only been away a short time, she said 'I miss Douge so much, I am so happy and I wish I can see my sister soon.'"

Also from Xiu Jun regarding the reaction of Christian Action staff at the Home:

"When Dou Geʼs diagnosis was confirmed, we were not optimistic. We were in despair. Then we got help from Christian Action's head office that Dou Ge could be sent to Hong Kong to have surgery. But, according to the doctor's opinion in Xining Hospital, the risk of that kind of surgery is very high. We were so worried about her. From the moment of entering the surgery room, our staff prayed together for her. All of us prayed that she could recover and everything would go well."

From Duojiejia, a government employed administrative staff:

"When I heard this news, I was so happy and excited. I don't know how to express my feeling at this moment. I am so grateful to the kind people who help Douge. I am grateful to donors who care about children welfare. With your help, our Douge can regain her life. Thank you!"

Also from Duojiejia:

"When I told this news to Xiao Wu (another government employee who cares for the children), she was so excited. She cried out. She was thrilled! She said "When it was confirmed that there was a tumor in Dou Ge's head, we were in despair. Did it mean she was hopeless? Would she leave us at her young age? However, with the help of Christian Action (CA), our Dou Ge has a brand new life. Don't worry about home Dou Ge, and don't worry about your sister while you are in Hong Kong. We will take great care of her. We are looking forward to your return. I thank all donors and everyone who cares about the children's welfare."

As you can see, your kindness spreads to so many people, and will continue to do so as Dou Ge lives and brings happiness to those around her.
