Join This Year’s 3-Legged Charity Walk To Save At Risk Children.

Chui’s life, and her relationship with her daughter, is a success story born of struggle; but it could so easily have gone the other way. Chui knew that for her daughter to succeed in life she needed to excel academically. She did everything possible to help her, but the harder she tried the more her daughter stone-walled her and their relationship disintegrated.

When her daughter was diagnosed as having learning disabilities, Chui sought help. Unfortunately, the government clinics were of no assistance and private clinics were too costly.

Chui was eventually sent to Christian Action's social worker in a desperate state. We accepted her daughter into the After-School care programme, in addition to establishing her detailed family circumstances and providing counselling.

Today Chui’s daughter is a Form 6 student and has a transformed life! She was selected as captain of her basketball team, is now full of confidence and enjoys a close mother-daughter bond.

Chui credits the love and care of Christian Action’s team, for the life they now enjoy. Chui’s daughter’s character has matured and she now works as a part-time tutor, supporting kids with special education needs at a local non-profit after-school childcare service!

I share Chui’s story because sometimes we lose sight of how our fundraising efforts can reconnect and restore the life of a young child and a young mother.

Next month, on March 9th 2024, we are holding a 3-Legged Charity Walk at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club. We can have a fun-filled time together and I would love you to bring your friends!

With the funds raised we will be able to provide essential services, such as the After-School child care service, for underprivileged families similar to Chui’s. Hong Kong’s elderly and ethnic minority populations will also be supported, along with orphans and children with disabilities in Qinghai, China.

As we get ready for the event, remember to follow my blog for further updates. We need all hands on deck!
