Love that is costly

An abandoned child is not necessarily an indication that the child is not loved by his parents. Xiao Hui was three years old when he was abandoned at Xining railway station. When doctors said that he had Spina Bifida, which was the cause of his double incontinence, one might assume that his parents didn't want a problem child, so they abandoned him. Physical examinations revealed the true and heartbreaking story.

Surprisingly, doctors discovered that Xiao Hui had already undergone surgery, probably to relieve some of the pressure on his spine. It was clear that he had been well cared for and was happy. But in Qinghai Province the average resident cannot afford a specialist, and Xiao Hui definitely needed specialist treatment.

We thank God that Tammy Lau, a Christian Action supporter who attends the Evangelical Community Church, stepped in to help Xiao Hui receive the surgery he needed. She referred his case to Dr. Ngan, a prominent Hong Kong urologist, who performed pro-bono surgery on Friday, June 10th. Dr. Ngan kindly introduced us to Dr. Yu, a famous neurosurgeon, who offered to follow that up and relieve the pressure on Xiao Hui's spine, also pro-bono!

This is another wonderful example of a CA supporter thinking 'outside the square' and coming up with a way that a helpless child could receive what he needed so badly. Life changing surgery like this is only possible when people like you offer your support, prayerfully, financially and in many other ways.

Your ongoing support ensures that many other children like Xiao Hui can have the necessary follow up care and education they need to become constructive citizens of society.

Dr. Ngan reports that the procedure has relieved the pressure, but he is waiting to see if there is improved bladder and bowel control. Your prayers are urgently needed for complete recovery for this lovely little boy, who always has a big smile on his face.

P.S.In the past there was a problem that prevented readers from leaving comments at the end of my blog posts. It's fixed now so please let me know what you think okay?
