A Time To Celebrate!

Advent is here, and our family will be spending time together, thanking the Lord for what He has done in our lives and in Christian Action over the past year. It was a milestone year! 20 years in Qinghai, so many children's lives radically transformed in our children's homes, and over 200 children now adopted. We will also celebrate another major blessing!

The Lord opened the door and allowed our foreign NGO status in China to be approved - while still bearing the name of Christ! 2017 also saw our very first Back to Serve volunteers. Abigail and Bingjie reconnected with their roots and returned to love and serve the children and young adults in our homes.

The year has not been without a big challenge. The ongoing battle to keep our New Horizons Building has constantly reminded us of the importance of prayer and trust in God. While there is much we can do (and have done) to fight for our place here in Choi Hung, some things remain in God's hands. We continually learn to trust Him in the midst of uncertainty.

As I reflect on 2017's peaks and valleys, I am reminded of those who waited thousands of years ago, desperate for the promised Saviour to come. Without knowing the name of Jesus, they trusted, hoped, and prayed He would come.

We also trust and pray, and celebrate that God chose to send us a helpless baby in a manger, who is now Jesus Christ, our Lord and the Saviour of our souls.

I pray that whatever this year has brought you, whether hardship or victory, you would find rest and peace as we celebrate the coming of our Saviour.

Wishing you a blessed and joyous Christmas, Siew Mei, Marlon, and Danial
