Sharing the Vision at Qinghai

For years, Christian Action has invited influencers from other countries to visit Qinghai and see our work. This year, Marlon and I were truly blessed by the visit of pastors and leaders from churches in Malaysia and Hong Kong. They had taken time off to come and see the vision of our ministry and give us their feedback.
As pioneers in serving the people of Qinghai, we were glad to show our guests some of the Children's Homes which we co-manage - especially our new Xining Children's Home. They learnt about our comprehensive facilities and our holistic services, and they engaged with some of our staff and children. They were very impressed by the children's dance performance and the awesome Tae Kwon Do presentation. They also visited our partners at the Qinghai Welfare Charity Hospital and Social Welfare Institute, where they met Eric from the Bridge Programme. They had a really enlightening conversation about life at Qinghai and Christian Action's efforts for people like Eric.
Smiles were always on their faces after they had visited each place. Then, when we were back on the bus, on the way to our next destination, the conversations were about the touching moments they experienced. They provided us with many practical recommendations about how we could further improve our services. One way was to include music therapy, another was to recruit a Malaysian couple who would be a parenting model and so on. I can't wait to see these implemented in our work in the future!
During the visit, we also travelled to some of the beautiful tourist spots such as the Yellow River, Tibetan Museum and Qinghai Lake. Marlon and I took the opportunity to have lunch with one of our much-loved children, Dou Ge. She is now married! It has been a long while since we last saw each other. So much has happened since her miraculous healing. We were so happy to see the radiant woman she is today. I gave her a few wedding gifts – a storybook based on her life and a photo album which contains all the memories from CA. I will always cherish that wonderful reunion!
Trips like these are a great reminder of how much I love my work. We see the evidence of how we have changed the lives of so many people in our care. At the same time, we learn ways to further connect with people who bring new insights, and help to improve our services. I pray that the visit from our friends in Malaysia and Hong Kong will continue to strengthen our growing partnership under our Lord's guidance. We are very blessed to serve through Christian Action!
