An Inspirational Picnic

Our Ethnic Minority Centre is always looking for new ways to connect families to the local community. We want them to feel more at home in the city, and we also want to encourage family bonding. Inspiration Lake, a recreation centre at the Disneyland Resort, was the recent scene for a family picnic for ethnic minority families.

Ji Shan Has A Family!

Before he was even a month old, Ji Shan had a rare genetic disorder known as Ellis Van Creveld Syndrome, which causes many complications, including congenital heart disease and musculoskeletal disorders.

In 2015, one of our dear supporters, Mark MacAlpine raised money to support Ji Shan. We had launched our foster care programme, so for ten years Ji lived in the loving care of Mr. and Mrs. Peng, his foster parents. This was a sweet time for Ji. His foster mother even carried him up the stairs to their flat to help ease his pain.

My Son and Dearest Supporter

Marlon and I recently travelled to Vancouver for our son Danial's graduation. His dedication and hard work has earned him a degree in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. We are so proud of him! We had a wonderful time at his graduation and then helped him pack to leave the city he has called home. It was a busy, but meaningful time for our whole family.

Empowering Migrant Workers

Migrant domestic workers are often misunderstood by the residents of Hong Kong. Christian Action's mission is to serve those who need help, so in 1993 we responded to the suffering of exploited domestic helpers and began our Migrant Domestic Worker's programme. We have been honoured to serve these people for over 20 years. Today, I want to share with you the story of a woman named Siti.

Football and World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day on June 20 is a day on which we celebrate some of the strongest people I have ever met! Hong Kong is now 'home' to those who have been forced to leave their own homelands. We are now celebrating the recent victory of one of our social workers in our Centre for Refugees, Jeffery Andrews, the first Ethnic Minority social worker in Hong Kong.
